Trencev moved to Paris more than forty years ago. He lived and worked in Montmartre during the golden era when Paris was the center of comtemporary art.
This colorful character - unconditional admirer of Marquet, Stael and Vieira da Silva - creates figurative paintings, energetic or subtly diluted layers of colors, in full page, where brushstroke by brushstroke, the fully structured compositions come alive.
As for discovering what technique he uses, Tony answers with a pirouette: "I work with my head and my arms. The color and atmosphere come to me trough my studio's window. Then I spread the paint on the canvas and my heart tells me if it is good or not".
